Question by mychemicalromancegirl: What type pf schooling do you think is best for a child, Home School, Private School or Public school?
Some people would say if they had the money, their child would go to a private school, others may say that if you are home schooled that you are sheltered, others says that private school are the best because they think they are more discipline per day others says its the way you raise your child, the way they learn and the type of environment they are in. What do you guys think of all this?

I think public is best, but that public needs to be improved to compete globally, especially in math and science. I think as a parent, if you have the financial resources, to pay for private or home school, then you have the resources to make public schools better. I think this commitment to your community, would be inspiring and an important learning experience for your child. Or if you have the talent to home school, volunteer in the schools.
In extreme cases of bullying, I could see a need for home schooling, or a different atmosphere, and believe some children do better in alternate learning models, but these can also be public.

I think the best money you could possibly spend would be on a good private day school. My definition of “good” would be school which has a history of academic instruction and a strict contractual right to remove a student from its classrooms with no tuition return. Some people feel they can buy a place that will accept the behavior of a hoodlum. The public schools are largely under siege from middle and high school students who intimidate the teachers who will not fight back due to the PC issues and the teachers’ first objective of making tenure and retirement. Home school would be a second option and is really, in my view, only appropriate if the parent(s) have the ability and education to teach their own child. Public school is the last choice and I gently advise that families consider making the sacrifices to avoid the public cesspool system.
Public School.
There’s nothing special about private schoold whatsoever. Yes, they cost a lot but look at the exam reusults. The one near my school did quite frankly, crap.
Home schooling is a waste of time. The child will never be at the same level as the other children no matter how much training the parents do. They’re basically ruining their child’s future.
I don’t personally think home schooling is the best way for education, because school also helps you develop social skills.
I do think, however, that it really depends on the area you live in.
I went to a private school from first grade to eighth. Private schools definitely discipline you more, and give you a different evironment to learn in. The classes are generally small and give off a type of community sense. There were only 19 kids in my graduating class, yet by the end of the I felt like I was close to at least a little over 3/4 of them. Teachers were always there for extra help and you were able to maintain a friendly relationship with them as well, and talk about non-school-related things like movies, etc.
However, I’m a freshman in high school right now (I go to the public school). The public schools are just as good as the private schools where I live – the high school has a good rank on a list of the best high schools in the country. You definitely aren’t disciplined as strictly, nor does it have that close feeling, but it’s just as good.
So my answer is, if you’re living in an environment with a good public school system, just go with public. Or go with private for lower/middle school and then transfer to public for high school.
