Question by Erica: What course should I take to pursue a career in my own child day care?
I would like to take a couple courses in college to start my own child day care. But I’m not really sure what I should take. I’ve thought about taking a course on starting my own business. Should I take a course on children? If so what kind? I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
I do have experience in children……..I babysat for like 4 years. I was just wandering what you all thought.

so u have no experience in either business or children, good luck
business management is the class to take
knowing how to care for children and day care service should already be known if you gonna do it for a career
I agree with both of the previous responses. In addition, if you have never worked in a daycare setting that would definitely provide you with a good idea of how a daycare is operated. At the same time you are working there you can attend classes. Some childcare companies pay you for going to school. While working your way up in the company and attaining a certificate or degree you can really decide if this is something you want to do on your own. It will definitely be challenging job! If you are certain this is your passion then take the time to earn a degree and put your foot in the childcare door.
