www.2china4norah.blogspot.com Video and pictures of our first few days with our new daughter in China. We adopted Norah from China’s waiting child program just before she turned four. She is profoundly deaf, and we are teaching her to sign, as well as taking her to speech therapy. The special needs waiting child has blessed our family. this little girl is defiantly a bright spot in our lives. We don’t know if she will ever be able to talk with her voice, only time will tell. Still as you can see she has know problem getting her point across to her mom and dad. You are perfect to us Dear Norah. Love DAD

Question by Kate: What is a college with a good master’s program in Child Life?
I want to become a Child Life Specialist, and right now I’m in an undergrad Child/Adolescent Psychology program… I’m just looking for a good college where I can get my Master’s in Child Life. I live in Virginia so something close to home would be preferred.. but I’m looking for anything :) thanks!

You could look at the University of Georgia–the Department of Child and Family Development: http://www.fcs.uga.edu/cfd/
Also Johns Hopkins: http://www.hopkinschildrens.org/specialties/categorypages/category.cfm?specialtyID=44&categoryID=24…

What a generous and open nature this little kid has. Life is hard for her without being able to hear the sound of her mom’s sweet lullaby and bedtime stories; but the language of love comes in a sunshine smile, a soft hand over worried brows, a hug from daddy when her knees are scraped etc. I hope she will learn to speak and say “I love you” to her lovely lovely mom and dad loud and clear.
