Question by risac: Child care ?
My boyfriend and I have both decided that we are ready to have a baby , the only thing that we are still thinking of is child care. It is very expensive to put a child in day care, we live in Massachusetts, is their anyway to receive financial aid for child care ? We both need to work , but i would start working ” mothers hours” (9-2) once the baby is here, any recommendations to find child care without handing over my entire paycheck ??

First off dont plan on being able to find a good job from 9-2 afte if you dont have one that will keep you on during mat leave…….and also if your so worried about money why would you ant to have a child to stick them in a daycare? children need all your attention and love in the first 4 years and you should be able to give them that before planing on one….they grow up SOOOOOOOO fast, I would hate to know as fast as my babies have grown up that I would have had to miss there BEST DAYS!

Financial aid for child care? It is not the job of the government (or taxpayers) to fund your lifestyle choices.
Get a good education and a stable job so you can fund your life.
The rest of us went to college, got married and are now paying our own way. It’s time for you to do the same. Otherwise you need to wait until you can afford to have a child!
Buy a dog.
Kids don’t deserve to be dumped in daycare.
In a perfect world, all mothers would be able to stay at home and raise their children. But, sadly it is not a perfect world. In this day and age, most households need 2 incomes.
After I had my first child, I went from full time, down to part time, and a family member babysat for me a few hours a week. Is that an option that you may have? As far as financial aid for child care, I do not know unless it is on the welfare budget somewhere. But, that would probably only apply to if you are going to college or something.
To be honest, I would wait until I got married and had a stable life with someone first. I know alot of people will argue that they are in a stable relationship with their boyfriends, but if they aren’t willing to make a lifelong commitment to you, how can you rely on them to stick around and help raise a child with you for the next 18 years?
If you need financial aid for child care, then I would strongly urge you to wait until you are more financially secure.
